Keys and endpoint
Use this page when you need to confirm the region, copy the endpoint URL, review active access keys, or rotate credentials.
What you can find in Object Storage Access
| Item | What it is for |
|---|---|
| Region | identifies the storage region tied to the service |
| Endpoint URL | the URL your S3-compatible client or application connects to |
| Access Keys | the list of active access key IDs available for this service |
Copy the region or endpoint
- Open the service page.
- Go to Object Storage Access.
- Use Copy region or Copy endpoint URL.
This is useful when you need to paste the values into a client configuration, deployment secret, or runbook.
Review active access keys
The Access Keys area shows:
- the active access key IDs
- a Refresh action
- pagination when you have multiple keys
- an action to copy the access key ID
- a delete action for each listed key
Generate a new key
Use Generate New Key when you need to rotate credentials.
The page clearly states that this action generates a new secret for credential rotation. The exact display flow for the generated secret is not clearly identified on the page until you start the action, so be ready to store the new credential securely if it is shown.
Before you rotate credentials
Make sure you know which applications are using the current key before you rotate or delete it.
Delete an existing key
Delete a key only when you are sure it is no longer in use.
Removing an active key can interrupt applications, scripts, or backup jobs that still depend on it.
Good practices
- keep separate keys for separate applications or environments
- label your internal secrets so you know which system uses each key
- remove unused keys only after you confirm they are no longer needed
- refresh the page if you suspect the key list is out of date
