Reinstallation

Use reinstallation when you need to rebuild the VPS with a template or image available in the customer area.

Where to find it​

  1. Open the service page.
  2. On the right menu, under Service Management.
  3. Open Reinstallation.

Reinstallation​

  1. Select the operational system to come reinstall.
  2. Type the new password.
  3. Confim

The process of rebuilding will restart and the VPS management options will be hidden, once the reinstallation is completed you will be able to manage the VPS again.

Important warning​

The page itself states that if reinstallation is executed, the data on the virtual machine will be lost.

Because of that, this action should be treated as destructive.

Before you reinstall​

  • confirm that you really want to rebuild the environment
  • validate whether a useful backup or snapshot exists
  • confirm which operating system should be installed
  • coordinate the timing with your team if the VPS is in use

When to use it​

Consider reinstallation when you need to:

  • rebuild the VPS from scratch
  • switch the system base within the available options
  • recover an environment that will be intentionally recreated

Open a ticket if:

  • the reinstallation does not start or does not complete
