Console
The console is the most direct way to interact with the VPS when standard remote access is unavailable or when you need to follow the machine boot process.
Where to open the console
- Open the service page.
- Go to Overview.
- In Service Management, choose one of the available console options.
The customer area usually offers more than one option:
- noVNC Console
- Xterm.js Console
When to use noVNC Console
Use noVNC Console when you need a visual browser-based console.
This option is usually more useful when you need to:
- follow the boot or restart process
- validate the login screen
- work on the machine when SSH or other remote access is not working
- interact with the VPS directly in the browser
When to use Xterm.js Console
Use Xterm.js Console when you need a terminal session based on the serial console.
This option can be useful in diagnostic and recovery scenarios. Depending on the VPS configuration, it may require serial console support to work correctly.
Which console to choose
- start with noVNC Console if you want the most direct visual option
- use Xterm.js Console when you need serial terminal access or when that is the recommended method for your system
What to watch for
- the console may open in a new tab or window
- browser pop-up blocking can prevent the console from opening
When to contact support
Open a ticket if:
- neither console option opens
- the console opens but the session does not load
- you need emergency access and the machine is not responding over the network
